TCM and Natural Approach to Winter Depression
Most people do not look forward to the long gray days of winter, however some people can experience depression during the winter months as the days become shorter and darker. Winter depression is more than just the blues, it can cause tension, irritability, anxiety, lack of concentration, loss of libido, weakened immunity, and trouble sleeping or getting out of bed in the morning. Cravings for carbohydrates, overeating, and weight gain can also occur. Energy levels can decrease and a loss of interest in activities that are ordinarily enjoyed is common as well. When spring returns those with winter depression feel like themselves again.
