Vibrant Aging
As I get older, I have begun obsessing over skincare. I’ve never really been into makeup, however, skin care on the other hand, I’m immensely interested in. I’ve started paying attention to what makes my skin appear supple, and feel fresh as well. I’ve struggled with acne for a while and thankfully for the first time in my life, have it under it control. Naturally, my focus for my skin has shifted from acne to anti-aging. However, I’m not vehemently against wrinkles, I’m merely cognizant of them. In fact, I believe crows feet and smile lines add character and are kind of becoming in my opinion. I view them as happiness lines, not wrinkles because they indicate the person laughs and smiles a lot. The only kind of wrinkles I’m not thrilled about getting are the ones that sneak up on you and appear on your forehead and under your eyes.
I have a very expressive face. Anyone who speaks to me notices it almost immediately. Sometimes I exude so much with a look, words are unnecessary. One expression I make frequently, is raising my eyebrows in shock when I hear something that I think is unbelievable or super surprising. Those caterpillars above my eyes will jolt up. Over time, raising my eyebrows has caused horizontal lines to form, across the top part of my forehead. I may or may not be in denial that they are wrinkles since I refer to them as lines and not wrinkles. But in all seriousness, I have started taking the necessary steps to mitigate the appearance of wrinkles.
Two things I started incorporating in my skincare regiment is rosehip oil and vitamin E oil. I prefer to go as natural as possible when it comes to applying product on my face. After researching what I could do about my acne scars, I discovered rosehip oil mitigates the appearance of scars and evens out skin tone. I’ve been blessed with a plethora of acne scars on my face. I started using rosehip oil for a few weeks now and have noticed the scars fading, they’re not completely gone, however they have reduced in appearance significantly. Before bed, I dab a small amount over any scars I have on my face. Rosehip oil is quite thick, so a little does go a long way.
Vitamin E oil may be used to reduce dark circles underneath your eyes. It also may prevent wrinkles and neutralizes free radicals as well. Vitamin E oil is beneficial for an anti-aging regiment because it boosts collagen and elasticity of the skin. I gently dab vitamin E oil under my eyes and on my forehead where I notice wrinkles. When applying the oil under my eyes, I use my ring finger. Fun fact: using your ring finger is important, since it has the most delicate and gentlest touch out of all the fingers. The area directly underneath your eyes is the softest, thinnest, and most delicate part of the face, therefore careful application is key. This goes for application of any eye creams also. Anyway, overall, rosehip and vitamin e are two beneficial oils and a real treat for your skin!
