Eco-friendly and Green Beauty Products
When it comes to beauty products, I’m always experimenting and trying out new items. Recently, I have become immensely cognizant about what products I use on my face. Whether or not they’re vegan, cruelty free, and ethically produced, are all things I consider important before buying a skincare product. I’ve also started incorporating products that are eco-friendly, less harmful for the environment and overall “green”. Weleda’s Soothing Facial lotion, Wild Rose Body Oil, and the Gentle Cleansing Milk are a few products I’m currently obsessed with and feel great about using due to them being environmentally friendly.
I’m a fan of Weleda’s products because of their stance on sustainability. Most of the ingredients used in their products are sourced from organic or biodynamic farming. Additionally, they believe that the packaging of their products should not only protect the potency of the ingredients, but it must also be manufactured from sustainable materials and be recyclable once it’s packaging life is over. I’m quite picky about the moisturizer I use on my face since I have immensely sensitive skin. Now that colder temps are here, my skin tends to get dry rather quickly. As the season changes, so do the products I use because I find the weather can impact my skin negatively. Lately I’ve been using Weleda’s Almond Soothing Facial Lotion. This product may restore moisture in the face, strengthen the skin’s protective barrier, and soothe and calm sensitive combination skin. Let me tell you, I am a fan! I have searched far and wide for a suitable moisturizer and this one seems to be a real winner in my book. The soothing facial lotion is dermatologically approved for sensitive skin and has truly proven to be friendly for my sensitive skin. I notice less redness on my face since using this product and my face feels fresh and soft as well.
Moisturizing after a shower is super important to me, especially if I use a deeply exfoliating body scrub. Furthermore, I prefer to use body oils over lotions and creams. In my experience body oils seem to really seep into the skin better than body lotions. Then again, I could be biased because I’m boujie about pampering my skin with a rich body oil. Lately, I’ve been using Weleda’s Wild Rose Body Oil. It’s a combination of almond oil, organic musk rose oil, and jojoba oil. It’s high in essential fatty acids, which makes sense because I think my skin feels softer and more nourished after using this oil. Also, I enjoy the smell that lingers on my skin, long after applying, it’s quite lovely.
As I mentioned above, winter wreaks havoc on my skin and makes it extremely dry. Sometimes there’s little dry parts of skin that start to peel at the corner of my mouth, which is amazing. Not! Anyway, to combat my desert dry face, I’ve started using Weleda’s Gentle Cleansing Milk. After washing my face with it morning and night, I noticed it has made my skin feel hydrated and a lot suppler.
I recommend these three products because they’re not just beneficial for your skin, but also because they are less harmful for the environment, sounds like a win win to me!
